Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

COVID has changed the way we work, communicate, and even live. But it doesn’t have to have a negative impact. Here are some ways I’ve been building myself up during quarantine.

Understanding What You Are Capable Of

I’m an extrovert. More specifically, I’m an enneagram 3. Not familiar with the enneagram assessment? I highly recommend taking it and helping better understand yourself. I’ve been able to work on my weaknesses while using my strengths to their fullest potential. It’s been a great time to work on growth as a person which will allow for growth in the workplace.

You can find the enneagram test here. If you have any questions about your results, feel free to email me.

I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in May. Mid-pandemic. This caused my plans to change and I needed to do something about it quickly. With no corporate job offer on the plate anymore, I knew it was important not to have a large gap in my resume. I have dedicated this time to growing my skills.

What have I been able to accomplish?

  1. I have started freelance marketing to keep up to date with the newest marketing trends and keep my skills fresh. My clients are highly interested in increasing their social media presence and have requested social media campaigns, SEO, content curation, Google Ads, and video editing.

  2. Working on my sales and personable skills by continuing to develop my Beautycounter business. I love myself and my body. It becomes easier to talk about and SELL because I love what I do. This business has also helped me develop the people skills needed to grow as a marketer. I listen to my clients needs and develop a skin plan just for them. I enjoy the feedback I receive from them later on and if we didn’t quite meet their goals immediately, we come up with another plan. Not sure what the hype is all about? Check out my previous blog about how Beautycounter is shaping the health & beauty industry here.

  3. Continue to learn. I recently became certified in Google Ads Search & Google Analytics. And I am not done. I will continue to learn more and advance my skills as much as I can so when an employer asks what I have experience in, I will have experience with it all.

Love Yourself

The most important thing I’ve been able to do is spend more time with family. Don’t take this time for granted. I recently gave birth to a new baby girl on August 28th, 2020. COVID has given me the time with her I most likely wouldn’t have had. Every negative can be turned into a positive and with that mentality, we make it easier to adapt to the hardships. Employers enjoy knowing they have someone who is able to adapt to change, and can handle difficult situations with ease.

How have you grown this past year?
